prednisolone 5mg buy uk It has been just under a week since our story was aired on Channel 9 News. I was so nervous to watch our 2 minutes of air time that I spent the afternoon doing everything I could think of to distract myself. When it finally was “our time” I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry when they showed the footage of me calling myself “The Crazy Chicken Lady”! What you didn’t see was the hen who had been perched on my shoulder for about 10 minutes before I made that comment. But, it’s out there and I admit that I love my chickens.
Since the story aired things have been a little chaotic, but in a good way! I have received emails from so many individuals saying the story made them cry (in a good way I am hoping), emails about how our story inspired them, and emails from people offering to help us with our farm. The most surprising emails to me were from people who said my story gave them hope in regards to how I had struggled with alcohol and where I am today.
It was never my intention to have my issues be a part of the story, I wanted the focus to be on helping others. But when I was asked if I ever was in need of food or help I instantly teared up. Obviously when you show true emotion people want to know more. I did struggle with drinking for a long time, I wanted help but I didn’t know how to ask and most days I was in denial that I even had a problem. It was exactly 1 year ago today that I walked into yet another ER complaining of horrible stomach pains. My parents had driven almost 3 hours to take me there themselves. I told the doctor my normal line about where the pain was coming from, how long it had been going on and then I quickly turned to making jokes and trying to take the attention off of me. Most of the other doctors would simply listen to what was going on and then wheel me off for the same tests I had gone through the week before. But, this doctor was different. He asked more questions than the others and very quickly dismissed my much rehearsed answers. He then pulled my parents aside and told them that my blood alcohol content as so high that I should either be dead or in a coma. Yet somehow I was able to walk myself into the ER and carry on a conversation no problem. I guess it just wasn’t my time to go.
I want to end on this note, the sole purpose of my “business” is to help people, that’s it. How we started was helping by donating nearly 800 lbs of beef and then donating eggs but helping people can happen in many different ways. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason and I do believe my “mistake” by talking about my past was meant to happen. Everyone has a story, mine is no greater than anyone else, it’s simply mine. I read every email that comes into me, everyone will always remain anonymous and I will always respond. So whether you just need to vent to someone, want to tell me your story or are in need of an egg sandwich please reach out to me!
I hope everyone stays warm on this frigid night and remember something as simple as saying hello to a complete stranger with a smile on your face can brighten their day.
